Tips and tricks for summer
KEEP IN MIND WHAT AFFECTS THE RANGE
How many kilometres you can drive and how often you’ll have to charge depends on several factors, especially your driving style, the outdoor temperature, the weight you’re carrying in the boot, and how many people there are in the car. As a basic rule of thumb, if there are pleasant above-zero temperatures outside and you keep to an economical driving style, you’ll travel further. Another factor is the condition and age of your battery, which has to power the air-conditioning in summer and the heating in winter.
Eco mode is a great help if you want the maximum possible range. It comes into its own if you’re in no urgent hurry to reach your destination, but would rather travel as far as possible without having to charge. The car’s acceleration and maximum speed will be reduced, but you get to travel further. To make Eco mode as efficient as possible, the smart control unit also limits the output of systems such as the heating and air-conditioning.
ENYAQ iV TIP
If you want to extend your range, choose mode B, which has the highest regenerative braking intensity. In this mode, the motor transfers the vehicle’s kinetic energy back to the battery. Using cruise control can also help to extend your range.
